Amsterdam’s bold modern art hub, founded in 1895, is famous for its striking "Bathtub" extension (2012) and a collection that traces avant-garde movements from De Stijl to pop art. Here, Mondrian’s unfinished Victory Boogie Woogie shares space with Warhol’s Campbell’s Soup Cans and Karel Appel’s vibrant Questioning Children, reflecting the museum’s daring curation. During WWII, staff secretly relocated prized works, including a Mondrian, to sand dunes to evade Nazi confiscation. Today, its ever-rotating exhibits challenge visitors with provocative contemporary pieces, from performance art to digital installations.
