Mau P is the alias of Maurits Jan Westveen (Amsterdam, 1996), a Dutch DJ and producer who emerged as one of the most exciting voices in contemporary tech-house and techno. Raised in a musical household and trained in piano, guitar, and drums, he first launched his career under the name Maurice West, releasing big-room house tracks on labels like Armada and Spinnin'. In 2022 he reinvented himself as Mau P, pivoting to a darker, more groove-driven sound with the release of "Drugs from Amsterdam" on Repopulate Mars — a track that hit number one on the Beatport chart and was named one of the Best Dance Tracks of 2022 by Billboard. Since then, Mau P has cemented his reputation as a tastemaker in the global underground dance scene, landing at number 77 in the DJ Mag Top 100 in 2025.
