Karim Aïnouz (born 1966) is a Brazilian-Algerian filmmaker and visual artist from Fortaleza, Brazil. Winner of the Cannes Un Certain Regard top prize for The Invisible Life of Eurídice Gusmão (2019), his work spans fiction, documentary, and visual art, consistently exploring themes of identity, family, and displacement. A member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, his latest film Rosebush Pruning (2026) — starring Riley Keough, Callum Turner, Elle Fanning, and Pamela Anderson — premiered in Competition at the 76th Berlinale.
